Male body length 6.4-8.0 mm; antennae bipectinate, 12-segmented. Male lacks light organ. Female wingless, body size much larger, resembles female of Rhagophthalmus, shows 33 light spots.

:Male is occasionally found in toilet situated in wild places, possibly attracted by artificial light.
This genus contains only 3 species, another two originate from Indonesia and India respectively. Female and larva of this species is not recorded yet.
