Male body length 6.4-8.0 mm; antennae bipectinate, 12-segmented. Male lacks light organ. Female wingless, body size much larger, resembles female of Rhagophthalmus, shows 33 light spots.

：Male is occasionally found in toilet situated in wild places, possibly attracted by artificial light.
This genus contains only 3 species, another two originate from Indonesia and India respectively. Female and larva of this species is not recorded yet.
